Volunteer Opportunities:

Packing Backpacks- During the school year we are in need of groups and individuals to help us pack food boxes for our BackPack Program. We have a room designated BackPack room where we set up the food items in a kind of assembly line to makes packing the boxes faster and easier. This is a great activity for groups and children.

Mystery Shopper Program- We are looking for volunteers to visit local food pantries as mystery shoppers and tell us about your experience.  This feedback helps us monitor and ensure that clients are treated well, and that our member pantries are following proper protocols.  This is a great opportunity for groups.

Sorting bread- We receive large bread donations almost every day and are looking for people to help us sort and pack the bread into boxes to be distributed to our pantries and soup kitchens.

Mobile Pantry- On select Saturday’s each month we host mobile pantries throughout our service area. We need people to help us set up the pantry, as well as help distribute the food and clean up afterwards. This is a great project for groups and for children.

Sorting Food Drives- Often at the end of food drives we need help sorting through the food that has been donated. Volunteers help us to group items together as well as make sure none of the food is damaged or unsafe for consumption.

Clerical work- Often times our office staff need a few extra hands to help with clerical tasks. These tasks can be anything from assisting with our direct mail to helping design artwork and marketing materials.

Anything else you can think of? Do you have any special skills you think could benefit the Food Bank? Just let us know! We’re always open to new volunteer ideas, and we want to you to enjoy and make the most out of your time with us.
