Getting together with family and friends during the summer doesn’t mean we can’t eat healthier and enjoy great meals. In fact we can kickoff June with the perfect reason to have healthier festive foods with a birthday party. The week of June 2nd-8th is the 2nd birthday for MyPlate, so let’s celebrate with trying new foods, new exercise and inviting new neighbors and friends. To make an old recipe seem like new, add nuts or seeds for decorations and add fruits or vegetables for a little splash of color. To add a little pizazz to your favorite drink make fun ice cubes with 100% juice. To keep the party going, add a little music to move or wiggle to or have a dance off.
