Volunteers Needed To Help With Hunger Action Month Activities!
Release Date - Aug 10, 2012
Did you know September is national Hunger Action Month? It's a time when Feeding America and food banks all around the country work to raise awareness about hunger in our neighborhoods, as well as encourage folks to get involved in the fight against hunger. We'll have a number of different volunteer activities and events that you can participate in, but right now we're looking for people to help us start the month off right and volunteer to help us collect peanut butter on September 1st.
Shine.FM is helping us expand on this year's Spread the Love peanut butter food drive. They will be doing live remotes from the Highland and Schererville Strack and Van Til locations on September 1st. We will be there not only to talk about Spread the Love, but to also encourage shoppers to participate in the drive and purchase a jar of peanut butter that they can then donate right in the stores. We're looking for people to help us from 11am-2pm at either location. Volunteers will be passing out flyers to shoppers encouraging donations. This is a great opportunity to help us kick off Hunger Action Month.
