Last Minute Fundraising Tips for Hope’s Harvest 5K
Release Date - Oct 07, 2011
We're so excited that our 9th annual Hope's Harvest 5K Walk/Run is just around the corner! With almost 900 participants this is going to be our biggest and best year yet! If you're one of the 900 participating, we've got some last minute fundraising ideas for you.
- Donate money to yourself!
- Ask your best friend to match your own donation.
- Ask you or your child's school’s parent-teacher organization to donate.
- Ask your spouse or roommate.
- Ask a sibling or other relative.
- Ask your neighbors, left and right.
- Ask your hair stylist or barber.
- Ask two members of your club.
- Let people know what you are personally contributing, your dollars plus many hours of your time.
- Go door-to-door in your neighborhood.
- Carry your collection envelope with you at all times.
- Ask your employer to match the donations you collect.
- Ask the clubs or organizations you are a member of to support our cause.
- Host a bake sale – before church or work or during lunch.
- Have a chili cook-off or host a sundae bar.
- Don’t forget about car washes!
- Businesses can offer internal incentives to employees for raising the most funds (1/2 day off, primo parking spot for the month, lunch with the boss, etc.)
- Put together a cookbook with recipes from team members and sell them to benefit the Walk.
- Mail a request for a donation (include a self-addressed stamped envelope) to all your friends, family, business associates, neighbors on your Christmas Card list.
Due to the number of people who will be out next Saturday, we won't be accepting any money at the actual walk. If you have donations you would like to turn in, please do so using the website or mail or drop them off at the Food Bank the Monday after the walk.
Thanks to everyone who is participating and helping us fight hunger and feed hope in Northwest Indiana!
