Indiana Attorney General Zoeller Kicks Off March Against Hunger
Release Date - Feb 21, 2012
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller stopped by the Food Bank to kick off this year's March Against Hunger food drive. The drive is a competition between law firms throughout the state to see who can raise the most food and funds for the state's 11 different food banks. AG Zoeller was joined by Food Bank Executive Director Angie Williams, Feeding Indiana's Hungry's Emily Weikert Bryant and the Lake County Bar Association's Dan Vinovich.
Competing firms are broken down into four different size categories, and the winner in each category receives the "Attorney General's Cup" as well as bragging rights.
In 2011, 50 law firms in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio participated in March Against Hunger and donated more than 6,000 pounds of food and raised $27,574 - which combined is the equivalent of 143,986 pounds or 72 tons of assistance.
