Food Stamp Myths and Facts

With the reauthorization of the Farm Bill due this year and some of the comments made during the recent campaign debates, there will be a lot of talk about programs like Food Stamps (now called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance  Program or SNAP) this year. We wanted to provide a myth vs. fact sheet about the program to help clear up some misconceptions, as well as provide some statistics about the popular program. With over 46 million people participating in the program, we feel this information is important to share so that we can all get a sense of what the realities are for those who use the program.
