The Food Bank is proud to have been awarded another grant from the Porter County Community Foundations to continue our work upgrading the intake systems of our Porter County food pantries. The money will be used to purchase computers and software for our remaining Porter County pantries so that they can move from a manual client intake process to doing everything on computer. This will help the Food Bank in forming a more accurate picture of the need in our area, the demographics of the average pantry user and assist in allocating food resources.  Additionally, our member food pantries are using the data to help form talking points, aid in fundraising, and gain a better understanding of the hungry in their specific communities.
