Food Bank of Northwest Indiana

About Us

Food Bank of Northwest Indiana We've changed our name to serve the community better.
America's Second Harvest of Northwest Indiana has changed its name to: Food Bank of Northwest Indiana

The change was made to help increase awareness about the organization as the USDA approved, primary distributor of food to local pantries, shelters, day care centers, and soup kitchens. The Food Bank remains an affiliate of America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest food bank network. Our service area is Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana. We were founded in 1982.

Our Mission Statement
To provide food for hungry people in Northwest Indiana through a network of charities. We do this by soliciting, purchasing and redistributing quality food, increasing public awareness, advocating solutions for the issues involved with hunger, and acting as an information and referral resource to the community.
